I expected a dog! That makes sense, doesn’t it? I’m sure she said a dog! And she even said we had to go to the shelter together to meet my foster brother there. I was right to expect a dog, right?
I even met a bunch of dogs this morning, and they were nice. I would have liked to play with some of them, but I didn’t get to. But Joleen and Patricia, who seemed nice, well, they told us that all the dogs that were still there were going home with other people. Unless of course we wanted to take a really big dog, almost as big as Mom, who would have taken up all the space on our bed… Mom said we couldn’t. I was glad about that, at least.
But guess what! They asked Mom if we could take a cat. Some weird kind of cat, too, called an iso kitten. His name is Jack, and he’s really little, and he’s using my old plastic crate and he’s staying in the back room. I don’t even get to play with him! Anyway, I did make Mom take some pictures:
Addy, that was great of you and your mom to share your home with a little kitten who needed a safe place. Jack, huh? He is awfully cute. How long do you think you are going to have him visiting? Also how’s he feeling? And how old is he?
Sometimes you think you are getting a dog and well, you end up with a cat instead. Who knew? Shame you won’t be able to play with him but he probably isn’t up to it right now.
We all have a bit of feline fever here at our house and have been thinking that some time in the future if we are able, we would like to invite a cat to live with us. They are pretty unique, aren’t they?
He’s about three months, and that lady, Joleen, said he’s almost better now, but he still can’t be around other cats until he finishes his medicine and sees the V-E-T again. I think it’s mean to make a little kitten like that see a V-E-T, don’t you? it just doesn’t seem fair.
I really like cats, but for some reason, most cats aren’t as friendly as the one I grew up with. I ask them to play, and they swear at me and run away! My sister Aquavit even used to do that, but she doesn’t any more. I think Jack would be lots of fun, if Mom would just let me raise him!
